If Liverpool sign a centre-forward who can actually produce significant hauls across multiple seasons, there’s every chance that Diaz could take his game to the next level in 2025/26.

Somando as duas passagens de Renato pelo Timão, o meia possui mais de 200 jogos pelo clube e 24 gols, com três títulos conquistados. Para ele, a conquista da Recopa Sul-Americana sobre o São Paulo foi um de seus momentos mais memoráveis atuando no Alvinegro. Ele também colocou a final da Copa do Brasil, contra o Flamengo, no Maracanã, como um momento importante, apesar da derrota.
– As partidas da Recopa, para mim, foram memoráveis por ter sido um clássico, final sul-americana, fiz um gol bonito, realmente foi marcante. A minha volta para o clube também foi marcante. Além disso, mesmo com a derrota para o Flamengo na final da Copa do Brasil no ano passado, a segunda partida no Maracanã foi muito marcante para mim, principalmente depois do jogo em que, mesmo com a derrota, a torcida começou a cantar ‘eu nunca vou te abandonar, porque te amo’. Além disso, ainda encaixo o jogo contra o Vasco, em 2015, que garantiu o título Brasileiro – afirmou.
Desde que retornou ao Corinthians, em 2021, Renato vem lidando com problemas musculares. Na última temporada, uma lesão na panturrilha o afastou por cerca de um mês e meio, e o meia perdeu duelos importantes no ano.
Por isso, o camisa 8 faz um cronograma específico de trabalhos físicos no CT, em conjunto com o fisioterapeuta Bruno Mazziotti, que o ajudou a recuperar seu ápice físico.
-Eu vim para cá em um momento delicado, eu estava sentindo dores. Eu conseguia jogar, mas não estava me sentindo à vontade, e foi aqui que eu me reencontrei, onde eu atingi o meu ápice. Agradeço ao clube, que até nos momentos mais difíceis esteve do meu lado, que comprou a ideia. Depois eu pude retribuir dentro de campo. Isso foi especial para mim – disse.

Whilst most of the sales were players on the fringes of the squad, Gallagher – who captained Chelsea for the majority of last season in the absence of Reece James and Ben Chilwell – made 50 appearances for the Blues, scoring seven goals, providing nine assists and totalling 4,036 minutes played.
The sale of the Englishman may now look to be something of a mistake, considering his soaring market value, although the Blues may well have struck gold with another high-profile sale in the summer.
Chelsea's key academy sales
Gallagher came through the Chelsea academy, going on to make 95 senior appearances, scoring ten goals, providing ten assists and totalling 6,061 minutes played.
The English midfielder was viewed as “priceless” by Mauricio Pochettino, being a clear favourite of his throughout his season in charge.
The 25-year-old midfielder was sold to Atlético Madrid in the summer for a fee of around £35.8m, making 30 appearances so far this season for the Spanish giants, scoring two goals, providing three assists and totalling 1,633 minutes played.

Whilst the Gallagher sale wasn’t the best value, selling him for what is now seen as under his current value, there was another sale in the 2024 summer window, which perhaps was more on the side of a good sale price, with Boehly and co extracting a fee higher than his current valuation.

Moving on academy talent like Gallagher has been a common theme in recent years at Stamford Bridge, with the Blues having also cashed in on the likes of Mason Mount, Fikayo Tomori, Tammy Abraham and Marc Guehi, among others.
Another among that list is the aforementioned Maatsen, who Chelsea sold to Aston Villa ahead of the current campaign, with the 22-year-old signing a six-year deal for the Villans, costing them around £37.5m.
The left-back has made 30 appearances this season, providing one assist, contributing to five clean sheets and totalling 1,029 minutes played.
Since being sold, Maatsen’s value has decreased according to Transfermarkt, now being valued at €32m (£26.5m).
This would suggest Chelsea made the right decision at the time, selling Maatsen off the back of a strong loan spell with Dortmund, despite Pochettino being “so happy” with the Dutch full-back in the 2023/24 pre-season:
That being said, Maatsen, being 22 years old, still has plenty of time to fulfil his potential, and in years to come the Blues could look back on this deal differently.
But as of right now, Chelsea will be happy with the timing of this sale, and the value extracted from it.

Nathan Lyon would be ready to come to Australia’s aid at the ODI World Cup in India if they needed spin-bowling reinforcements as he prepares to return to action after the calf injury which ended his Ashes tour.Lyon will be back on the park next week in grade cricket before making his state return for New South Wales in a Marsh Cup game against South Australia on October 20, followed by a Sheffield Shield comeback against Victoria at the MCG from October 26.Currently, he is penciled in for the three Shield matches before the Test summer. The first Test starts on December 14 against Pakistan in Perth, but Lyon believes he would be able to play a part in India should the selectors call. Ashton Agar was ruled out of the final squad with a calf injury leaving Adam Zampa as lone frontline spinner supported by Glenn Maxwell.”I sent Andrew McDonald a text message the other day when I saw Ashton Agar was ruled out. I said, ‘just to let you know, I’m back bowling 10 overs, I’m right to go, 100 percent’. If that happened I’d do anything to go over and play the World Cup,” Lyon said.”I’d be more than comfortable going in there and doing it if I had to.
