WHAT HAPPENED?
Sancho commented "Freedom" on Rashford's Instagram post after the latter's Aston Villa loan debut against Tottenham on Sunday, which has been interpreted as a dig at Manchester United. Paul Parker, who played for United between 1991-96, believes the Chelsea winger is trying to get Rashford involved in his spat with their parent club.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Sancho was sidelined by then-United boss Erik ten Hag after he was accused of not training properly in September 2023, leaving for Borussia Dortmund on loan last January before signing for Chelsea on loan with an obligation to buy in the summer. Rashford followed him out of the door on a temporary basis to Aston Villa in January 2025, prompting the Sancho post that has irritated Parker.
WHAT PARKER SAID
Parker told mybettingsites.co.uk: "Jadon Sancho reminds me of a weak little boy who is using someone else to air his grievances. He doesn’t have the strength, power, or presence to do it on his own, so he’s trying to drag Rashford into his mess. I hope Rashford is smart enough to stay out of it. Even his PR team should know better than to let him get involved in this nonsense. He [Sancho] should be focused on improving his game instead of alienating himself further. Sancho is absolutely weak. He needs to take a long, hard look at himself."

WHAT NEXT FOR SANCHO AND RASHFORD?
Sancho and Rashford are competing with each other for Champions League qualification this season, with Chelsea sitting fourth and Aston Villa eighth in the Premier League. Rashford is the likelier of the two to return to Old Trafford, with his Villa deal not including any option to make the move permanent.
da betway: With one eye on the Scottish Premiership and another on the transfer market, Celtic could reportedly move to sign a Premier League midfielder worth just £15m for Brendan Rodgers in 2025.
Celtic transfer news
da roleta: The Bhoys have barely missed a beat in the current campaign, despite losing star man Matt O’Riley to Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer. The Dane’s exit dealt the Scottish champions a major blow and forced them to bid farewell to yet another talent to the Premier League following the likes of Kieran Tierney a number of years ago.
Those at Celtic Park could yet fall victim to their own success once more in 2025 too, with Nicolas Kuhn recently linked to Premier League side Crystal Palace. A man in form, Kuhn would be following in O’Riley’s footsteps by starring at Celtic before swapping Scotland for England’s first tier.
It’s a trend that the Bhoys should be desperate to bring to an end and reverse by welcoming a Premier League talent of their own. According to Caught Offside, Celtic could now make a move to sign Wataru Endo from Liverpool in a deal worth €15-18m (£12-15m) next year. The Japan international reportedly wants out at Anfield amid his struggle for game time, potentially presenting Celtic with an ideal opportunity.
Liverpool players Wataru Endo and Alexis Mac Allister
They’re not the only side reportedly interested, however. Fulham, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Ipswich Town are also eyeing a move for the Liverpool midfielder in a busy race for his signature, which looks destined to end in an Anfield departure.

Now 31 years old, Endo has fulfilled his role at Liverpool better than most expected and is now playing a lesser role thanks to the emergence of Ryan Gravenberch. If Celtic is to be next for the midfielder, then the Bhoys could be getting a player who may ease into the Scottish Premiership.
"Machine" Endo would be impressive coup
Although struggling for game time at Liverpool, Endo could slot straight into Celtic’s midfield alongside fellow Japan star Reo Hatate to take the Bhoys up yet another level at the heart of Rodgers’ side. If Rodgers did welcome Endo, meanwhile, then he will be signing a player who Jurgen Klopp loved in his final season at Liverpool.
Speaking to reporters after a young Liverpool side defeated Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final last season, Klopp said via Sqawka: “I’m pretty sure in three [or] four years Wataru will sign another long-term contract at Liverpool just because he might be 30 or 31 on his passport but he’s not.
“He’s a machine. He is footballing-wise exceptional. His defensive brain is outstanding. He gives us a lot of freedom for a lot of things. Yeah, top development. Very helpful, very helpful.”
For the price of £15m, Celtic may need to act quickly to win the race for Endo ahead of Premier League sides and, in doing so, reverse the trend of top talents swapping Scotland for England.
da marjack bet: Conor McGilligan has reacted to the news of Leeds United wanting to sign a £20 million+ player in January.
da heads bet: The Whites are back in Championship action on Sunday, as they travel to Wales to face Swansea City. Daniel Farke’s side could finish the weekend at the top of the table, depending on how results go.
Farke has already unearthed Leeds' very own James McAtee
The Leeds United head coach may not need to reignite his interest in the Manchester City man.
ByDan Emery Nov 20, 2024 Leeds United eyeing James McAtee loan deal
It has been a productive campaign for the Yorkshire side so far, but with January six weeks away, Leeds and the 49ers appear to have their eye on business they would like to conduct. It emerged this week that Leeds are interested in signing James McAtee on loan from Manchester City in the New Year.
The Whites have been linked with a move for the creative midfielder before, and a new report has revealed that the interest from Leeds remains the same. The Whites are looking to take McAtee on loan in January, as the Blues are willing to sanction a temporary departure, given his lack of game time under Pep Guardiola this season.
However, Leeds are not the only team interested in the England under-21 international, so it could be a race to win his signature when January arrives. Despite that, a YouTuber and Leeds fan has reacted to the news that the club want to sign McAtee in the New Year.
Conor McGilligan reacts to Leeds wanting to sign McAtee in January
YouTuber and Leeds supporter McGilligan took to X to react to the news of Leeds wanting to sign McAtee in January. The 22-year-old has remained with City this season after doing ever so well while on loan at Sheffield United this season.
But so far, McAtee has played just six times in all competitions, and only one of those has come in the Premier League. Therefore, speculation has led to teams looking at signing McAtee in January, with Leeds looking into a potential loan deal.
That is something that McGilligan believes would be the signing of the transfer window, as he wrote on X: “Probably be the signing of the window. But can you have him, Piroe, and Aaronson all competing at points for the 10 role?”

Leeds are a side that already has plenty of attacking options, especially in that number 10 position, but Farke may feel McAtee can offer something different to what the other players bring to the table now.
However, as stated before, there are plenty of other teams interested, Nottingham Forest being one side chasing McAtee, and a report stated that City could accept permanent offers in excess of £20 million, making a deal more difficult to do for Leeds if that is the case. As well as Forest chasing the midfielder, other Premier League teams such as Fulham, Leicester City, and Southampton are also interested in McAtee.
Arsenal have been handed a January 16 deadline to complete the signing of a future star for just £21 million, with the player himself already agreeing personal terms in the summer window.
Arsenal's transfer plans for January explained
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is attempting to guide the north Londoners to their first Premier League title in 21 years, having sealed transfer deals for goalkeeper David Raya, defender Riccardo Calafiori, midfielder Mikel Merino, shot-stopper Neto and winger Raheem Sterling over the summer window.

The aforementioned five have reinforced Arsenal’s options in key areas all over the pitch, which is testament to Edu’s extensive work behind-the-scenes, but it is believed they could add to their ranks in January as well.

Saka’s hamstring problem isn’t serious, as confirmed by Lee Carlsey, while Havertz is expected to be fit to take on Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium this weekend.
While scares around Havertz and Saka have been alleviated, their absences would’ve been a major cause for concern for Arteta, and reason to contemplate signing alternative options for the pair in January. Arsenal are believed to be targeting a new striker who can alternate with Havertz, as doubts surround Gabriel Jesus’ ability to lead the line right now.
“You have to credit Mikel Arteta because he’s brought this out of him [Havertz],” said former recruitment chief Mick Brown, who remains well-connected within the game.
“I’ve heard, though, that if there was the right option out there, Arsenal still want to buy somebody in that position. The problem is there’s not a long list of players who are good enough to play that role and are also available to come to the Premier League. Arsenal won’t want to waste any money they have on a player they don’t need. They’ll be prudent, but I know they’ll be looking for areas they can improve, and I think that will be one even with Havertz playing as well as he has been.”
As well as a new forward, Arteta and Edu are looking to shore up defensively, and it is believed they’re still after goalkeeper Joan Garcia after failing to sign him in the summer.
Garcia agreed personal terms to join Arsenal at the time, as reported by reliable media sources like Fabrizio Romano, but they couldn’t quite agree on a fee with newly-promoted Espanyol.
Arsenal given till January 16 to sign Joan Garcia for just £21m
According to Mundo Deportivo (via Sport Witness), Arsenal have been given until January 16 to sign Garcia for just £21 million, with his exit clause set to rise to around £26 million thereafter in the winter.
The story is a complicated one, as it is believed his release clause rose to £26 million in the summer after previously being £21 million. Mundo claim his Espanyol contract will implement a similar scenario in January, with Edu handed another opportunity to bring him in for £5 million less.

The Spaniard, who played a key role in helping Espanyol achieve promotion last season, has been tipped to become Spain’s number one goalkeeper as Arsenal eye up another move for the future star.
“I like the personality he has, the style he has,” said ex-Espanyol keeper Kiko Casilla.
“He is the future goalkeeper of Spain. He is the present of Espanyol and I hope he is also the future.”
The USMNT legends offers guidance to the young American especially with the 2026 World Cup on the horizon
Donovan, Howard emphasize the importance of playing consistently
Suggests Reyna consider all options, including MLS

WHAT HAPPENED
USMNT legend Landon Donovan has shared advice for Giovanni Reyna as the young midfielder looks to reignite his career in 2025. After a challenging few years at Borussia Dortmund and an unsuccessful loan spell at Nottingham Forest, Reyna faces a pivotal year in his development with the 2026 World Cup fast approaching.
"The reason we talk about him [Gio Reyna] is because he's such a generational talent and we were running the stats, and in the 12 league games this year, he has one start [for Dortmund] and his average minutes on the field is 2.1 minutes in 2025," Donovan said. "He comes in for three minutes here, doesn't play the next three games. He's got to move, he has to move because this too important a time for him."
Donovan, the USMNT’s joint all-time leading scorer alongside Clint Dempsey, expressed concern about Reyna’s lack of playing time at Dortmund on his podcast with Tim Howard. He emphasized that the 22-year-old is a generational talent and urged him to leave the German club to improve his chances of featuring for the U.S. at the 2026 World Cup.

WHAT LANDON DONOVAN AND TIM HOWARD SAID
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Ever since his breakout 2022-23 season, Giovanni Reyna has struggled with injuries and finding a consistent role with Dortmund — making just 11 Bundesliga appearances in the 2023-24 season before being loaned out. However, even his six-month loan spell at Nottingham Forest failed to get the best out of the attacker, as he made only nine appearances for the in the second half of the 2023-24 season. Things haven’t changed since then as injuries and other issues have seen the 22-year-old play just 378 total minutes this campaign.

WHAT’S NEXT?
As Reyna enters a pivotal year in 2025, he faces crucial decisions about his future especially after reports indicated that Borussia Dortmund are open to selling him this summer. The American has less than 18 months left on his current contract and with the 2026 World Cup around the corner, the 22-year-old’s performances over the next year will be instrumental in determining his role in the national team setup.

Leeds United fans will already be nervous about their team’s promotion chances in the Championship, despite the fact the Whites are only 15 games deep into the marathon of the second-tier campaign.
Supporters that pack out Elland Road are far too used to heartbreak on the big occasion, especially when it comes to trying to leap back up to the Premier League, with a 1-0 playoff final defeat earlier this year to Southampton still no doubt stinging.
Of course, there’s also the agony they experienced under Marcelo Bielsa – before triumphantly winning the league in 2020 – after Frank Lampard’s Derby County took great delight in toppling the West Yorkshire giants over two legs in the playoff semi finals the year prior.
With Leeds just outside of those top two automatic promotion spots at the time of writing, the die-hard Whites masses will just be fearing another disastrous near-miss is on the horizon.
Away from all that pessimism, however, there is plenty to still latch onto that’s positive, with Daniel Farke boasting two promotions up to the top-flight on his managerial CV, and plenty more could come from his steady Leeds side who have only tasted defeat twice in league action to date.
Alongside that, the January transfer window also gives Leeds adequate time to strengthen ahead of a crucial 2025, with this being what their lineup could look like come February next year when glancing at some significant transfer rumours…
1 GK – Illan Meslier
Although Illan Meslier has been suspect of some shaky displays this season in goal, he is likely to remain as the Leeds number one shot-stopper moving forward.
The 24-year-old has picked up an impressive nine clean sheets from his 15 Championship games to date, which included a shut-out coming his way versus Queens Park Rangers just before the international break.
2 RB – Jayden Bogle
Jayden Bogle
Jayden Bogle is also likely to remain as Leeds’ main right-back in early 2025, considering he was only purchased this summer.
Alongside the fact he’s still a fresh-faced recruit, the former Sheffield United man has also shone in spurts for Farke’s side by picking up two league goals as an attack-minded option on the right.
3 CB – Joe Rodon
Joe Rodon was also another summer purchase made by Farke to shore up the defence in West Yorkshire and he has become an ever-present under the German’s guidance in the second tier.
He was particularly impressive against Plymouth Argyle in early November, amassing 98 touches as an assured but imposing centre-back figure.
4 CB – Pascal Struijk
Pascal Struijk has also been top-drawer this campaign to date after finding his 2023/24 season was largely stop-start owing to injury issues.
The 25-year-old is now making up for lost time, with two goals bagged from 15 league games so far as a menacing presence from corners, which has even seen him take on captain duties for his promotion-chasing employers.
5 LB – Dennis Cirkin
The first of a trio of new signings comes in the form of Dennis Cirkin, who has been linked with a switch to Elland Road heavily in recent weeks.
With Junior Firpo’s contract up in the summer of 2025, this would be smart planning on the end of Leeds to buy his replacement in January, with the “fantastic” defender – as he was once labelled by former Sunderland manager Lee Johnson – more than capable of replacing the ex-Barcelona left-back.
The standout Black Cats number three is equally as creative as Firpo, having accumulated seven goals and five assists on Wearside from 92 games, and might well be available to pick up for a reported fee of £6m
6 CM – Ao Tanaka
Leeds will know they don’t need to splash the cash in order to obtain some exceptional talents this forthcoming window, as Ao Tanaka only cost Farke and Co £3.5m to acquire in late August.
Helped by an injury crisis in the holding midfield positions, the Japanese gem has been quietly superb for the Whites since entering the first-team fold, with a 92% pass accuracy averaged per second-tier clash among other glowing numbers.
7 CM – Lewis O'Brien
Leeds might well be in the market for another new holding midfielder this January, with Lewis O’Brien previously on their transfer radar.
O’Brien is being touted to make a £7m move to LAFC, but as the former Huddersfield Town man narrowly missed out on promotion with the Terriers back in 2020, he could fancy a return to the EFL with Leeds.
He was also a top performer when on the books of Leeds’ near neighbours, amassing eight goals and ten assists as a reliable head from 131 total games. He could, therefore, be a potential option ahead of Joe Rothwell.
8 RM – Wilfried Gnonto
Leeds fans must go into a state of panic whenever a window opens, knowing full well that Wilfried Gnonto might finally up and leave.
The Italian winger could stay put this time again, having mustered up two goals and five assists in league action so far for the West Yorkshire titans.
9 CAM – Brenden Aaronson
The ex-FC Zurich star is likely to be partnered by Brenden Aaronson in attack past January, with the American breathing life back into his playing days at Elland Road this season.
He already has four goals and one assist next to his name as the former RB Salzburg man aims to offer even more during some high-stakes games to come near the summit of the table.
10 LM – Ryan Kent
The last incoming on the transfer front could see Farke and Co add a free agent into their ranks with Ryan Kent linked to potentially further bolster their left wing options.
Largie Ramazani is currently sidelined after an encouraging start to life in England, whilst Tottenham Hotspur loanee Manor Solomon has largely underwhelmed in this spot, with no goals and just one assist picked up from eight appearances.
Kent could offer the Whites something different down this channel, therefore, with the ex-Rangers man boasting 33 goals and 56 assists from his memorable stay at Ibrox.
After a prolonged lean spell, Mahmudullah found some Test runs which should tone down some of the criticism he has faced
Mohammad Isam09-Sep-2014Mahmudullah had started to walk back the moment his attempted heave down the ground was hurtling towards Kirk Edwards at short cover. He had just got to his first half-century in Test cricket after nearly 21 months, and had seemingly thrown it away with a poor shot. It was a moment of sharp disappointment, particularly with close of play looming, but the tide in St Vincent was slowly turning towards Bangladesh. So Edwards would drop the sitter, West Indies would look shocked and Mahmudullah would get to bat for another 8.2 overs. Mushfiqur would end the day on an unbeaten 70 but Mahmudullah’s 151-ball 66 was equally crucial in Bangladesh’s fightback. The pair added 130 for the fifth wicket, the biggest gain of which was Mahmudullah’s crawl back to scoring runs. Before Mahmudullah was joined by Mushfiqur late in the morning session, the sorry tale of Bangladesh’s batting woes had repeated yet again and continued the trend of a pitiful year. But the pair rode on luck and prevailed through tough periods when runs were hard to find. Shannon Gabriel bowled seven maidens in a row, which on most days would have resulted in wickets, as it did in the first innings when Nasir Hossain couldn’t resist hitting out against Jermaine Blackwood after Sulieman Benn bowled three maidens from the other end.Mushfiqur encouraged Mahmudullah during the partnership, asking him questions in between overs. But it was always up to Mahmudullah to fight back, and make sure the question marks over his place would rest for at least one more day.Arguably one of the prettier batsmen in Bangladesh, Mahmudullah has endured a dramatic drop in form. Incidentally it was against West Indies that he had scored his previous Test fifty. That half-century had arrived on the back of a 62 which helped Bangladesh compete fiercely with West Indies, an innings during which Mahmudullah was bruised by Tino Best but he talked about how important it was to survive in that innings. He was even better in the subsequent ODI series, getting Bangladesh out of trouble a number of times, and eventually playing a key role in their 3-2 win. But that was it for him, failing everywhere he played, losing his place in the Test team and eventually stripped of his vice-captaincy.He soon became the face of ridicule, with the odd hint he that he was getting undue advantage too, after Mushfiqur got engaged to Mahmudullah’s sister-in-law last October. It coincided with Mahmudullah’s loss in form getting worse but still being picked in all three formats. Mushfiqur had in fact slammed the selectors for not consulting him while picking the Asia Cup squad, which didn’t have Mahmudullah.A few months ago, Mahmudullah celebrated getting to a first-class century in such an ugly manner, he was suspended for the first two matches of the 2014-15 first-class season (as it was the last match of the previous season). This innings in St Vincent will help tone down some of criticism Mahmudullah has faced. Without Shakib Al Hasan, it was always important for Mahmudullah, Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur to take up the bigger responsibilities within the team. At least in this innings, Mahmudullah has stepped up.
Eyeing an instant return to the Premier League, Sheffield United are reportedly set to sign a former Manchester City gem who was compared to Rio Ferdinand during his time in West Ham United’s academy.
Sheffield United transfer news
The Blades have so far shown plenty of intent in their battle to earn a return to the Premier League at the first time of asking, sitting as high as fourth, one point adrift of Burnley in the automatic promotion spot and five points behind Championship leaders Sunderland.
After returning to winning ways last time out against Stoke City courtesy of Tyrese Campbell against his former club and Kieffer Moore, those at Bramall Lane have seemingly turned their attention back towards the transfer market.
Of course, Sheffield United were a busy side in the summer window, having welcomed the likes of Moore and Campbell, who will hope to kick on as a strike duo after a successful outing last time out. But now the Blades have reportedly shifted their focus towards a potential future star.
According to The Mirror, Sheffield United are set to sign Jamal Baptiste on a free deal after he impressed on trial at the club in the last month. Baptiste, still just 20 years old, has spent time at both Manchester City and West Ham throughout his career before finding himself without a club. Reportedly considered one of the most talented prospects at West Ham, the central defender will be relieved to have seemingly found his next move.
Jamal Baptiste for West Ham.
If Baptiste reaches his potential then the Blades should have some player on their hands, given that former West Ham man Carlton Cole previously went as far as comparing the defender to Premier League legend Rio Ferdinand.
Cole praised the defender, saying on Inside Irons as relayed by Hammers News: “Especially Jamal Baptiste that I’m a massive fan of. Well he’s training with the first team at the moment (which tells you how highly rated he is) so I think he’s definitely a massive prospect.
“He’s going to be the next Anton Ferdinand hopefully or the next Rio. So hopefully we can these boys on the right track and help them transition into being a professional footballer full-time.”
"Massive prospect" Baptiste needs move
Without a club and in danger of becoming one of many forgotten prospects in a case of what might have been, Baptiste needs things to go well at Sheffield United if he does put pen to paper at the Blades. Under the guidance of experienced manager Chris Wilder, he has the chance to set the course towards realising his high potential to prove Cole right, but must become a reliable option.
Still just 20 years old, it remains to be seen whether Baptiste would come straight into the Sheffield United squad or if he is forced to wait for his chance. For the sake of squad depth alone, his arrival would be no bad thing for the Blades in search of promotion.
